C3 Caledon Quarry
After much deliberation, Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we decided to run this event in a more controlled environment where we can ensure all government guidelines for the safety and health of everyone participating.
We are able to offer this event thanks to the generosity of our partner club C3 Canadian Cross Training Club and its wonderful sponsors:
SATURDAY AUGUST 1, 2020

Caledon Village, ON L7K 1X2
6:00 pm 1500M Challenge
6:50 pm 200m Super sprint
7:20 pm 400m Sprint
8:00 pm 800m INDIVIDUAL AND RELAYS
There are several courses on in the C3 quarry that serve different purposes.
There is a clearly marked 1 Km. loop Course. The 1 and 2km races are on that course2 and 1 loop respectively.
Participants are allowed to have a support kayak or paddle board along the course as long as they do not interfere with the progress of any other swimmer. They can be used by coaches or assistants to supply water and nutrition to swimmers if they wish to use this method.
We will also have a small raft beside buoy no. 1 in front of the start at the beach where swimmers can leave their own water and food.
There will be visible buoys marking a 200m diamond off the beach on the north side of the quarry.
The 200 will be one loop around, the 400 is 2 loops and the 800 will be 4 loops.
The 1500 is a different course set up on its own.
Lets all have a great experience in the open water
The C3 Quarry is owned by James Dick Aggregates. The is probably the best place to learn and train Open Water Swimming. With many programs and events a year C3 does an incredible job at keeping this jewel as nice and functioning as it is.
We are making sure that the experience is the best we can offer. Our race is geared to all swimmers, beginners and experienced. The course is set the closest to shore we can. The conditions in any open water body can change rapidly and that is why we are doing this race in a protected shallow area that will ensure the safety of all participants.
The temperature of the water is pretty constant with a variation of + - 4 degrees celsius from 20C. We really hope to see most of you there!
