I just want to share this wonderful message:
Hi everyone – hope you will forgive this little (hopefully) inspirational message:
At exactly 5:32pm today, Jade Scognamillo touched the shore at Marilyn Bell Park having spent 19:59:49 swimming across Lake Onatrio – exactly the same route Miguel will take in just 9 days time! It was the most amazing moment of her life, and of all those who shared the journey with her – many said afterwards that it was in their top 3 events of their lives (after marriage and having their children!) – many said it was 'life-changing'. Today Jade is celebrating by relaxing on the beach at Grand Bend with girlfriends, looking out across Lake Huron and hopefully NOT contemplating her next lake! LOL!
We wish Miguel and his crew the same success, luck and enjoyment from what will be the biggest challenge of his life and the most rewarding thing any of you will do in your lives! Many memories will be made, tears shed, arguments had and fears overcome – a journey that will stay with you forever and you will all laugh about in years to come! It is such a priviledge to be involved in this amazing 'Man vs Mother Nature' challenge in arguably one of the toughest swims in the world!
Everyone should take LOTS of photos to show Miguel after the swim – he will not see most of what goes on around him because he will be totally focused on swimming and his perspective will be very different from yours. He will want the photos to show and inspire his grand-kids!
GO FOR IT MIGUEL – YOU ARE WELL PREPARED AND HAVE AN EXCELLENT TEAM BEHIND YOU, AND I HEAR THE WATER IS WARM!!!
We will be thinking of you and praying for you on the 10th. We know you can do it!
Jane, Jade & family Scognamillo x
